More often than not, dogs tend to lick their owners or other members of the family they belong to. And as owners, the kiss is perceived to be a kiss from their canine friend. Often they see it as their dog’s way of expressing love to his masters. Nevertheless, there are also other reasons why dogs lick or kiss humans. Read on to able to learn what are their reasons and how they learned such behavior.

It is dogs’ natural instinct to lick their owners. Most dog owners do not really mind getting wet kisses from their dog. Some view it as their dog’s way to express their affection. Well, if you wonder why your dog loves to lick you on your face your ears, the main reason is for cleaning. Dogs keep themselves clean by licking their body with their tongue. Thus, they use the same cleaning instinct with you. Oftentimes, your dog would think that aside from protecting you, it is their responsibility to clean you.

Dogs learned how to lick from their moms. As you can observe, mother dogs keep their puppies clean by licking them. And such action has encouraging effects on them. When the mother clobbers her puppies, the puppies’ blood circulates better and it helps them digest the food properly. Aside from that, the puppies’ mother licks her pups to show her love. That means that if your dog licks you, he is also showing his love for you.

Your dog might lick you for another reason and that is attention. Your pet wants you to see him that is why he is trying his best to capture your attention and the only way for him to get what he wants is to lick you. He will lick either your face or your arm. Another reason could be that your pet just loves how your skin or lotion tastes like.

We all know that dogs are pack animals. They follow the male alpha dog, the one that proves to be dominant and commands respect, of the pack. Dogs then show their submission by licking. Hence, if your pet licks you, that would mean that he looks up to you as alpha male and his licking is his sign of submission to your commands.

These are just few reasons behind your dog’s licking habit. Now, that you already know them, you can communicate and understand your dog much easier.

Planning to have a dog as pet? It is best to take note that there are dog breeds that are dangerous. One should keep in mind that dogs are not always kind and sweet. Before buying a dog, you might want to check out the top four most dangerous dogs in the world.

One of the dangerous dog breed is the Huskies. Huskies are known to be a breed of intelligent and energetic dog, although it is not recommended to make them guard dogs due to their personality and gentle temper. Huskies are also known to be very observant of human behaviors and they can mimic them. Huskies can switch the lights with its paw and open the doorknob using its canine. Since Huskies are intelligent, they have the tendency to get bored easily so it is best to keep them busy. If unmanaged, Huskies can behave in a negative way. In a 2000 study of dog bites conducted in the US, it was noted that husky-type dogs caused 6% of it.

Another breed that is considered to be dangerous is the German Shepherds. German shepherds are known to be intelligent and alert. They are usually used as police dogs. German shepherds are cheerful, eager to learn and obedient. They are known to be loyal to their handlers and close to families yet wary to strangers.

Included, too, in the most dangerous breed of dogs is the Rottweiler. Rottweilers are brave and confident. Male Rottie grows 24-27 inches in width and can weigh 110-130 lbs while female Rottie can grow up to 22-25 inches in width and can weigh 90-105 lbs. They are often calm but react to the surrounding with great alertness. Rotties have the desire to protect the home and the family it belongs to. Like German shepherds, Rotties are approachable but they do not fall to immediate friendships. They are good companions, guardians and general-purpose dogs. Rotties, however, were listed as the second most dangerous breed next to pit bull because of several listed fatal human attacks. These negative behaviors maybe due to abuse and lack of socialization.

The most dangerous dog breed is the pit bull. Pit bulls have unpredictable mood and can be aggressive without prior notice. Because of their aggressiveness, pit bulls are usually taken to dog fights. One of the qualities of this breed making it the most dangerous dog in the world is its ability to aim for the neck and lock its jaws on the opponent’s throat. Pit bulls are known to never release its enemy until it is dead.

Dogs are loyal to his master. With proper care and love, it can submit fully to his owner and follows orders easily. But, if dogs are mistreated and abused, they can misbehave and attack people.

If your puppy likes to chomp your shoelaces or he pees and carries dead animals inside the house, then he needs to be managed.

When people adopt or buy a puppy, they want it to behave like a trained puppy instantly. They expect these cute creatures to know and do the things they ought to do. They think that puppies, when brought to their new home, would know the things they can and cannot play with.

Puppies’ cute body size and harmless looks do not mean that they are not capable to destroy things inside the house. If they are left unmanaged, they may turn into little monsters and cannot be disciplines. If tolerated, your puppy might end up tearing your house down.

Puppies love to play. They love playing with things they find interesting. As his master, you are expected to spend quality time with your puppy as well as teach him the rules inside the house. If left alone, your puppy might get himself hurt.

To ensure that your puppy will not cause a mess inside the house —- manage him. Teaching him the house rules keeps him from chewing your shoelaces or turning your entire home into a comfort room or a graveyard. Baby gates, tethers, leashes and crates are effective tools in managing your cute puppy. When you leave the house, place him inside the crate to condition his mind that it is a safe place for him. You can also keep him inside a room where there are no objects he can easily destroy and may hurt him. When bonding with your puppy, you might consider putting a leash on his neck to keep him from messing around. Just pay attention to your puppy if he needs to pee or poop.

As a pet owner, you are your pup’s boss. It is your duty to keep your puppy safe and secured in his new house. For him to be disciplines, teach him the rules and show him who the boss is. It is also best to enroll your pup to a good manners class specific for dog. This is essential to keep your relationship with your puppy healthy and happy.

"There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face." - Ben Williams

“There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.” – Ben Williams

When you bought your first dog, cat, bird or fish you might have simply wanted to have something to show off to your friends. You might have decided to have a dog because your neighbor Joe has a dog that can go to the nearby bakery and buy a piece of bread for him. Little did you know that having a pet could greatly improve our health.

Mood elevators. Our pets serve as mood elevators. Their presence contributes to the reduction of loneliness. Nine-five percent of dog owners share that their dogs help them when they are sad. Almost the same number also says that their dogs help them when they are feeling bad physically. They also reduce the amount of stress in a person’s life because they encourage playfulness and promote laughter. In general, senior citizens can more likely bear to stand the isolation if they have a pet compared to those who do not own one.

Increase social connections. Studies reveal that by walking a dog, the owner can mostly have a greater chance of striking a conversation with other people than those who do not have a pet. Pet owners develop their self-confidence and later on become comfortable talking to others. Their pets help them ease out of social isolation and shyness. The person with a pet can look at another person straight in the eye with confidence and can engage in conversation.

Helps recover from illness faster. Studies found that senior citizens in hospitals are more likely to respond positively to treatment and recover faster if they come in contact with a dog or any therapy animal. Research even shows that pets can contribute to the higher survival rate of people with serious ailments than the presence of their family and friends.

Having a pet can give you a lot of health benefits. Pets do not just bring pleasure and joy to your life but they can also help you improve your health.

The writer also regularly gives advice regarding things including the laundry storage bin and rolling laundry cart.
