You need to train your cat differently than you would train a dog; cats are very different. Cats have unique personalities, and are much more independent than is your average dog. Plus, they have different behaviors that are largely unique to cats.
For one, you’ll want to teach your cat not to jump on the table. The best way to accomplish this is to start when they are young and let them know that this is not a place for them to be.
Make sure that you do not put food on the table for them because this will give them a mixed message and they will not understand what to do.
You’ll also want to make your cat stop biting. You need to be careful where you put your hands on a cat especially if it is a female. You want to avoid the hind area because this makes them uncomfortable and they have a tendency to get uncomfortable when you touch them there.
Cats are great pets and it is important to teach them right from wrong at an early age. If you let your cat jump on the table for the first year of its life and then you try to teach them it is not a proper thing to do, they will not understand.
Keep at it. The key to successful training of your cat is to be persistent. Training a cat successfully takes time.
Finally, remember that once you have your cat properly trained then they will be much easier to get along with.
Invest some time and effort into teaching your cat the proper way to behave. This will be well worth it. Know at the outset, though, that it won’t happen overnight.

www.animalrightscoop.com While most pet rescue stories tell the tale of a rescued dog or cat or bunny, Lance Harrington and his brother fell in love with the donkey at the local petting zoo. Please, Can We Keep the Donkey? published by the Animal Rights Cooperative, features dozens of personal accounts of successful animal adoptions and rescues. These entertaining stories describe rewarding relationships with animals ranging from dogs and cats to birds, a snake, and, of course, a donkey. Meet a rabbit who is an architect, dogs too ugly to pet, an orphaned cat who bonds with an orphaned girl, an unruly dog who brings aid to senior citizens, and many other animals whose lives have changed the people who took them in. These delightful and heartwarming stories of individuals who find each other and bring joy to one another’s lives pose the question that one contributor asks: “Who rescued whom?”. All proceeds from Please Can We Keep the Donkey? go to The Shadow Fund, established to help pet owners who cannot afford necessary medical treatment for their pets. The Animal Rights Cooperative, www.animalrightscoop.com, is dedicated to the humane treatment of animals. http
